Two Little Piggie CDs are comprised essentially of thoughtfully composed, original works of what we call instrumental French Circus Jazz: ----------------------
In 2005 we completed and first performed "BUGS : A Deeply Troubling Symphonic Work for Guitar, Synth and Rhythm Section," to literally no notice whatsoever.
Audiences were generally stunned, uncertain how to respond -- at least polite patrons of the arts seemed uncertain -- and we retreated to perform only the shorter pieces, generally in a dinner-music setting, as we were largely reduced to working for food.
BUGS is a high-spirited, high-energy, Mid-volume, up-tempo work in several, mostly short movements. Our inspirations came at once from the antics of French circus clowns (especially those fuzzy-buttoned, jump-suited, white-faced, coneheads from European traditional circus) as well as our impressions and reflections upon the habits and character of social insects, stink bugs and brightly colored beetles.
For the Piggies, BUGS also represents a somewhat frivolous foray into modern, extra-musical enhancements, like DJ scratch-backing, tape-delay, voice sampling, and heavy hand-clap percussion.
We’re most proud of the Jamaican flavored initial track “Bugs Me,” (perhaps the most upbeat and danceable of the featured selections), and the more melodic, "something Very Pretty," but some of the shortest sequences ("Little Prince Silverfish," "Funky Mess") comprise quick little variations on strong themes, with horn arrangements, and were in fact the more difficult to write, produce and perform.

More recently, in 2006 we published Smokey Blue: French Circus Jazz. (also featured and distributed on CD Baby)
Also an instrumental work in several movements, For "SMOKEY BLEU," we deliberately concentrated on making a slower, genuinely blues-inspired, somewhat more elemental work (with fewer instruments and effects), capable of dinner-time performance (once again, we anticipate being forced to work for food).
