MP3 Fall In March - Fall Down

A tasty mixture of modern rock, punk, gypsy and russian folk played with violin, viola, and classical piano in addition to the standard rock instrumentation.

5 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: Power Pop

Details:
Borne of the collective musical ADD of singer/songwriter Vlad Baranovsky and classically-trained multi-instrumentalist Monica Wulff, Fall In March challenges the notion that a band has to fit neatly into a musical genre.

Started as an accoustic duo intertwining the sometimes haunting and sometimes playful sound of the viola with rhythmic, russian-folk influenced guitar, male/female harmonies, and occasional touches of classical piano, this collaboration soon grew to incorporate the dynamic rhythm section of drummer/vocalist Michael Gilbert and bassist/vocalist Tom Murphy. The new additions added much needed drive and groove while further solidifying the fact that yes, this is a rock band.

Fall In March''s new EP "Fall Down" is a product of their eclectic backgrounds. Starting with the rocker "Hello", the band quickly shifts gears to the viola-driven pop of "Losing It All For You" and proceeds to the band-of-gypsies-discovers-reggae swing of "Pretty Girl." The CD concludes with the folky "With You" and the heavily piano driven and punk-influenced title track, "Fall Down." The result is a genre-defying disk that is both new in its melding of styles and accessable with its roots planted firmly in catchy, sing-along pop.
