William P. James is the son of two Montana music teachers. He tells me that when his Dad wasn''t singing opera or teaching Mozart like his Mom, he was also a rodeo coach on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. This apple doesn''t fall far from the tree and Bill performs his day job as an elementary school music teacher teaching choir, guitar, violin, trumpet, clarinet, xylophones . . . lots of instruments. He is also a dedicated teacher union representative. "Workers of the world unite!"
After being a Rhodes Scholar finalist and then a social worker. . . and then a bartender/burger flipper, he armed himself with one masters degree in music and another in philosophy and is now adequately protected against any inner aspirations of achieving financial wealth. He has been a stage manager and a sound engineer at the Crystal Ballroom. He has sung with the Portland Opera Company and has earned many roles in theater and musical theater between Missoula, MT and Portland, OR.
In the modern music world, his bands have been featured on MTV''s "The Real World," the motion picture "Slam Nation," independent film "The Death of A Cathedral," and has shared the stage with such acts as; Everclear, Elliot Smith, Heatmiser, Pond, and Pink Martini. His music has been played on Portland''s KNRK, KGON, and KBOO. He has sang and/or played guitar along with other instruments in many bands, including; solo projects, Sylvia''s Ghost, Jesus Presley, Post Impression, and now . . . Floating Pointe.

Jason Mockley started playing drums when he was 6. He has performed all over the Western United States. Everywhere from Casinos and Bars, to Prisons, Parks, Festivals, Churches and coffee houses. Has played on over 16 releases (and counting). Played in music used in MTV''s Road Rules, The Real World, The Independant, Slam Nation, and TV commercials for Miller Beer and Alta Vista. Taught electronic music production in the music dept (MIDI Lab) @ Portland Community College for 2 years. "I enjoy mixing electronic and accoustic worlds together into something new and exciting...truly the only style that has not all been heard before." Along with playing the drums forever, Jason also enjoys playing the Keyboards, and Guitar. Both of which get manipulated through many effects. Jason mixed most of the new Floating Pointe release in his bedroom studio known as "The Lab". Jason currently plays in several Portland bands including Jesus Presley, SweetJuice, Sylvias Ghost, and Floating Pointe.
