MP3 Stefanie Fix - Survival

the hook laden pop of Sheryl Crow. the depth of Tracy Chapman. the power of Ani DiFranco.

13 MP3 Songs
POP: Folky Pop, FOLK: Modern Folk

Details:
Survival, the second release from Stefanie Fix, contains songs produced by Larry Campbell, (currently Bob Dylan''s guitar player) and the late Bob Mayo (formly Peter Frampton''s keyboard player).

Since it''s release Survival has been receiving rave reviews including:

Dirty Linen - June/July 2001
"New York songwriter Stefanie Fix''s second recording is full of solid hook-filled pop-rock songs with nice touches of fiddle, mandolin, and pedal steel. Fix has a powerful and appealing voice, and her songs deal with the problems and compromises that one has to make in this modern world of ours... One of the new wave of modern female songwriters who can rock, as well as play it soft and be equally as effective both ways."

Goldmine - April 2001
"Survival is that rare drink of water in the desert, that diamond in the rough. It is a record that truly deserves to be heard from America''s next big pop star, Stefanie Fix"

Stefanie has been touring nationally for the past three years and has made guest appearances on over 25 radio stations and received airplay on over 40. They include WFUV, WKZE, WUMB, WXPN and Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour (syndicated over 125 stations). She''s been featured on Laney Goodman''s Woman in Music (syndicated/NPR 70 stations) & Maine Public Radio (syndicated).

Stefanie has performed at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (2000, NY) and was a finalist in The Founders Company Folk & Bluegrass Festival Songwriters Competition, (1999, UT) and The Sierra Songwriters Competition (1998, CA). She has shared the stage with Jules Shears and John Hall (of Orleans) and has opened for Shawn Colvin, Janis Ian, Richard Shindell, Freedy Johnston, John Wesley Harding, Bill Morrisey, Steve Forbert, John Sebastian and the list goes on.

Ultimately though, Stefanie''s not about credits and credentials. She says, "It took me a long time to find my center artistically. We''re taught to want so much, but all I ever really wanted was to play my music for people and be able to travel from town to town. So, that''s what I''m doing". Stefanie currently plays an average of 120 dates a year.

If somewhere out there the road of Sheryl Crow were to converge with Tracy Chapman and Ani DiFranco, then perhaps in the midst of that convergence you''d find the songs and sounds that are Stefanie Fix.
