Details:
In 2000, the FIFTH CIRCLE was founded by Drummer, Jacob Jimenez, and Guitarist/Vocalist, Trevor Scharich. And like most bands, this one also has an extensive past. Jimenez and Scharich have been writing, performing, and recording together since 1994, under several different band names. Like most bands, they have had many different people join, and leave the band. The name "FIFTH CIRCLE" comes from the thought that there are many phases a band can go through, due to changing members, styles, etc. When the FIFTH CIRCLE recorded their debut album, “What goes around…” the band members consisted of: Jacob on drums, Trevor on guitars/vocals, and a fantastic bassist by the name of Eric Niemczyk. Niemczyk is a child of funk, and a product of Flea (Red hot chili peppers). Jimenez and Scharich met Niemczyk while playing together in a mutual friend’s band. They both thought that Niemczyk’s style and sound would be an excellent addition to their music. After presenting numerous demos for Niemczyk to listen to, he agreed to join the band. With some preparation, the FIFTH CIRCLE entered into the recording studio for the first time. The majority of, “What goes around…” is comprised of older songs, some of which were the first songs ever written by Scharich. Jimenez and Scharich wanted to record the older songs that many of their early fans enjoyed. “Sunken”, the fourth track on the album, is the actual original recording from when Scharich was 15 years old (Recorded on an old Tascam 8 track, hence the different sound quality). “What goes around…” was recorded at Uptown Studios in Owasso, MI, under the supervision of owner/engineer Tim Houser. The album took under a year to record. Even though it didn’t turn out exactly the way they wanted, it was a great learning experience for the band. In the meantime, Jacob Jimenez’s brother, Caleb, joined the band. Once again this brought different styles to the writing, which is heard in later recordings. However, after the album was finished, and a few gigs were played, Niemczyk decided to leave the band for personal reasons. Even though he is greatly missed, the writing continues. THE FIFTH CIRCLE hopes you enjoy their debut album, and will return for upcoming releases.
