Details:
Fifth Period Fever came onto the Detroit music scene in early 2004. By blending the pop songwriting of groups like the Zombies and the Beatles, the high-energy rock of the MC5 and X, and the country twang of Hank Williams and Gram Parsons, Fifth Period Fever has created well-crafted rock and roll in a style all their own.

The origins of Fifth Period Fever go all the way back to high school when twin brothers Pat and Steve McCauley began playing music together. That collaboration led to several bands and is at the heart of Fifth Period Fever. After recruiting a drummer and second guitar, Fifth Period Fever played their first show in early 2004. With a year under their belt, the brothers decided they needed to tighten up and fill out their sound. To do this, they recruited Erik Miller on drums and Stephen Palmer on lead guitar. Miller moved to Detroit from Lansing and had caught the attention of Fifth Period Fever while playing with the alt-country band Flatfoot. His hard-hitting and straight-ahead style was exactly what Fifth Period Fever needed. Palmer was the leader of one of the McCauley brothers'' favorite bands, Back in Spades. With the addition of him on lead guitar, the line up was complete.

Through solid pop song writing and the desired mix elements of all the music they love, Fifth Period Fever has created a sound that is refreshing and exciting, yet familiar to fans of great music. As bass player Pat McCauley said, “I think our music feels like home to a lot of music fans, but it also feels fresh at the same time. With us you’ll hear those things that make great rock and roll, but in a new way.”
