Details:
With all the warning of a raging funnel cloud, The Fervor has descended on the vibrant Louisville rock scene with their eyes fixed on swelling the storm to an even greater magnitude. In just under a year, the husband and wife team of Natalie and Ben Felker recorded a vital EP with seminal engineer Kevin Ratterman (Elliot, VHS or Beta) and formed one of the most exciting live bands in the city. Though the group is relatively fresh, the musicianship is anything but green and has already won great acclaim from local and regional press. Here’s just a few of the things that the who’s who in music are saying about The Fervor:
“Husband-wife team Natalie and Ben Felker have created a prelude to a masterpiece, a surprisingly original batch of tunes clever and heartfelt, witty and crushing, all with an otherworldly musical presence that includes guitars, bass, drums (Kevin Ratterman on record; Mat Herron currently), vibes, organ, Rhodes and Natalie’s dark-in-a-poppy-way piano. Her vocals are a mix of Fiona Apple and older Liz Phair, but with idiosyncratic depth and, when called for, fantastic sultry smoothness.”

“From the first moments of "Overexposure" — the opening track on this five song EP — Natalie Felker''s piano line and bruised but pretty vocals dig a 5-foot trench in your skull. These songs stick around awhile, whirling narratives and character sketches around your brain.
... a five-song CD that is beautiful, tragic and well worth your money. Do not tarry."
