Bio:
Cranked up on post millennium Garage Surf Punk, Atlanta''s The Cogburns have been pounding the Southeast since 2002. Prepare for a rock and roll romp through the decades that will have you thinking of The Kinks, The Knack, and The Hives. With strong pop sensibilities and a powerful rock hand, The Cogburns put on a high energy live performance that will have you drinking and shaking for their entire set.
The Cogburns have (dis)graced the stage with the likes of The Woggles, Dash Rip Rock and The Legendary Shack Shakers, as well as legendary music festivals such as Atlanta''s Drive Invasion, and Winston Salem''s Heavy Rebel Weekender. The remainder of 2006 will see The Cogburns covering more of the Southeast''s finest underground venues in support for their 2nd album - Pay Up, Sucker - and in preparation for "The Big Ol'' Tour of England" in December.
Come on out for the party!

Press:
"The music was punk rock, sort of -- not unlike the punk blues I''d been listening to at various shit hole rock clubs the previous weekend in the midwest. The themes of sex, drinking, and going to Hell for a beautiful dame were shared. So was the high volume and the sodden, hollering audience, sweaty with enthusiasm and alcohol fever. And the sound was raw as roadkill..."
-Stage Presence E-zine
"The Cogburns blast off like a time-warped transistor radio, offering a static-free and endlessly energetic hybrid of real rock and roll, storming blues, furious surf and raging punk."

“Mixing surfy ''70s garage rock with the poppy sensibilities of Elvis Costello and The Kinks, The Cogburns kick out the fun-filled jams on their second release. With a little bit of rockabilly flair and new wave bop, Pay Up, Sucker is sure to make you want to get up and dance around for a guilt-free good time.”
- Jonathan Williams - Prick Magazine, Atlanta
“Like American Idol, but for diametrically opposite reasons, listening to Atlanta''s the Cogburns makes us want to drink and bust stuff up. We heartily recommend their new cd, for which we were thrilled to supply the cover art.” - Fastner and Larson
