Details:
The Junch has arrived to fill the growing gap between the thug-life players and the conscious haters. The Junch is not about guns and jewelry but he doesn''t waste his breath talking about those who are. The Junch just speaks about what he knows: the ups and downs of someone trying to make it in this crazy world.

The Junch grew up in Los Angeles listening to the radio every night before he went to sleep, giving his dreams the colorful soundtracks of De La Soul, Biz Markie and the Beastie Boys. In high school, he picked up the habit of writing poems for his female friends on their birthdays. This introduced him to the idea of getting his personal message across through rhyme. After school, he moved to Japan for a year to get a taste of the world beyond the shores of California.

While in Japan, the Junch was free from the influence of commercial rap music prevalent on American radio and music video shows. So, he began to cultivate his own musical tastes and began digging back into the discographies of the old school rap legends: Run DMC, Public Enemy, Rakim, A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One, even NWA. He stared sharing this music with some friends he made in Japan and they shared some Japanese music with him. They eventually started a band, Golion, to play the music they liked with the Junch on vocals. Eventually, the Junch started to write his own lyrics using the poetry skills he had honed over the past several years. This experience culminated in a performance at the Gorilla House, where a live recording was made that has been downloaded by people around the world.

After Japan, the Junch moved to Boston where he continued this newfound passion by forming a new band, A Spark In The Dark, performing around Cambridge and collaborating with local artists. With every show, the Junch began to gain more confidence and stage presence. Notable shows include performances at Brother Jimmy''s in Cambridge (the former House of Blues), the All Asia Cafe, and a Harvard Law School diversity fair. The Junch also gained recording experience recording demos with the band and a solo mixtape entitled Lost in Boston.

One day the Junch packed his things and fulfilled a personal dream of moving to New York City. Since then, he has performed at over a dozen shows around the Village including such venues as the Pyramid and Mo Pitkins Lounge and even had a stint hosting a rap talent showcase. He also released his second solo mixtape entitled Made in New York City that has been praised by fans around the world.
The Junch recently released “The Junch EP” and launched https://www.tradebit.com kicking off the promotional campaign for the Junch debut LP due in the summer of 2009.

The Junch is greatly influenced by the old school ethic of finding a balance between addressing important topics and having a good time. Nevertheless, he is a artist of the modern era, confronting the newest challenges and temptations that young adults face today.
