Growing up in the same neighborhood that raised Malcolm X and welcomed Martin Luther King Jr. into weekly church services created a conscious and political mindset for the young Hoffman who would forever be influenced by the legacy of the Black Power and Civil Rights Movements. Later on in life her academic achievements and scholarships would gain her entrance into the prestigious Boston College. Today the cultured and knowledgeable songstress makes music that you can dance, cry and sing to.
After already having a top-ten hit on the national college urban radio charts with her debut single “Can’t Wait,” Lovely Hoffman has firmly established herself and made a major mark on the music scene. Now, in the Spring of 2009, Lovely returns to release her follow up single “Light Switch." “This is a groove for the ladies,” Lovely says “It’s a song that I wrote to express what women go through when their special someone can’t make up their mind, it’s a song to express our frustrations.”
Having major success performing on shows with Ne-yo, Jaheim as well as T-Pain during his two day tour in Boston, Lovely is now positioned as R&B''s Newest Face and is anticipated to carry in new energy, new sound and new style.
