Details:
"Lucky 13" is the thirteenth album by me, Thaddeus Carlton!
Anything involving the number ''13'' is thought by many who are superstitious to be ''bad luck''...But I embrace the opportunity to get happy about ''13''... Please join me in celebrating my thirteenth album because I am very fortunate
to have the encouragement, determination and talent to make so many completed works possible...I also must mention that I am very grateful for your support!
Believe me, I''ve worked very hard, however, without the air and the water that God gives me, I would be nothing!!!!
Some people wonder how I can be so prolific and produce so many songs...honestly, I don''t really know,...I feel that I am blessed...God uses me as an antenna to which He has sent
the gift of music...To that statement, some people reply,
"Your songs are rarely of the religious nature,...How can you accredit your success and volume of songs to God?...To that I answer..."Everything comes from God!"
Whether it be an uplifting song about how every person is a walking miracle like the selection from this album entitled "I Can Do Anything" or another one of this project''s songs entitled "To Be A Pimp"...it still, all comes from God, the Almighty!
Even my friends and family have no idea that I am this closely connected with God until they stop to examine that
I am the most positive person that they know!
In my private life, I uplift people! This is what God put me here for!
Also included on this musical offering is the song "Remember Where You Came From"...It is about a reflection of my younger life, growing up in the projects in East Los Angeles, California. The names in the song are real and the situations are true...I genuinely do "Remember Where I Came From"! Life in the ghetto is tough! If you are fortunate enough not to live in the ghetto, you are blessed...If you are unfortunate enough to live in the ghetto, you are even more fortunate!!!!
The ghetto teaches ''real life'' skills that you can''t possibly learn in suburbia!
I learned at an early age that it was more important to learn "Tongue-Fu" than to learn Kung Fu!
"Tongue-Fu" is creative words that keep your ass out of trouble so you won''t have to use Kung Fu!...Sure, I could fight because if you can''t fight when you live in the ghetto, you are going to die quickly...but, if you can scare aggressive people with your words, you will certainly live a lot longer!
The song, "Livin''In Debt" puts emphasis on people who spend more than they earn...Don''t you think that Life and Money should come with instructions..."If The World Was Perfect",
we would be able to deal with situations such as NOT keeping
up with the Joneses! Intricately, it doesn''t matter if your neighbor has more possessions than you do...If he works harder than you, he deserves more stuff. Don''t kill yourself
financially trying to look like you have a lot of money! Credit Kills!!!
If you can''t afford to pay cash, you can''t afford it!!!
When I wrote the song "I''ll Never Leave You", I was deeply inspired by the disaster caused by Hurricane Katrina in the Southeastern United States (2005)...So many families'' lives were irreparably changed forever.
I was traumatized, as so many people were who could not turn back the hands of time and prevent this catastrophe from happening.
As with every other disaster, some people lose their Faith in God when people die and lose their homes...These people don''t lose their Faith because they are reacting to the disaster...They are constantly looking for a reason to disbelieve in The Lord!
"That Girl She Lied" was the result of listening to the verdict reached in a trial where a Black man was convicted based on the testimony of a lone White woman. We have come a long way in America since Black people were enslaved,...this was the ultimate disrespect...and although
we have achieved so much politically, financially and socially, we have so much more to accomplish...America needs to open it''s eyes to racial equality! There is no reason why Black people should take a ''back seat'' to White people in terms of Justice! Equality! Equality! Equality!
My music is for all races, and all races enjoy my music.
Music has no color and neither does Kindness...We need to evolve into a society that respects what is inside a man rather than allow his exterior to lead us to pre-determine whether he is good or bad.
White people enslaved my people but I don''t look upon them as being bad because of crimes caucasians have committed in the past...Everyone is innocent until proven guilty...No pre-judgment, no prejudice...all good will toward men and women...Women are equal to men, maybe even superior...They don''t have the obsession to conquer the world as men do...They are essentially better people than men are. They are the Nurturers...They create Life and Man takes Life...Men cause unnecessary wars because of their uncontrollable ego...Women would never do that. Respect women more.
