Biography of Charles Aarons
Charles Aarons is a Canadian musician living in Mission, British Columbia. He has currently released his first solo instrumental CD entitled “Nothing Fancy Here” on his own label Downtown Music.
Aarons started his career in 1972 in Toronto as a busy session player. Early on he discovered his writing talents and formed one of the very early Canadian recording acts, Aarons & Ackley. Two albums were produced and released with North American distribution on Capitol Records. He had successful single releases with “Where Did The Music Go” and “Lay Me Down”.
Aarons continued his career as a session player and songwriter until moving to Los Angeles in 1978. During his thirteen year stint in Los Angeles, Aarons worked a busy schedule as a session player, music supervisor for television and film, and jingle writer, as well as composing music for television and film. He also appeared in many television shows such as Dallas, Falcon’s Crest, Love Boat and Dynasty as well as appearances in films such as Against All Odds, Pee Wee’s Great Adventure, The Thornbirds and Byrd.
Moving back to Canada in 1989, Aarons took up residence in Mission, British Columbia and immediatley began playing in Vancouver at many corporate engagements and shows. He is currently rehearsing with his band the High Top Flyers in preparation for touring. His currentl release “Nothing Fancy Here” is available at https://www.tradebit.com
