Cardell was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, where there was a lot of competition in the music field. People and other bands would challenge you on a daily bases. His main instrument growing up was Bass Guitar. He later would become very proficient on Key''s as well as Lead Guitar. Cardell always wanted to perform even as early as the 5th grade. Being surrounded by people much older then he because of his talent he was forced to grow up quickly. Other older musicians would always ask him to play gigs or either come sit in. During this period of exploration he decided that he wanted to write and produce his own music. With that he went and purchased a 4Trk. Recorder. He began to write, produce, and perform all the instruments as well as the lead and background vocals This would later lead him to sign a deal with a record label distributed by BMG. His single "Baby Dont Fool Around " peaked at 62 in Billboard''s R & B Charts. It also did moderately well in the foreign market. Cardell has performed with George Duke, Brighter Side of Darkness(Love Jones), DJ Rogers (Say You Love Me), and shared the bill with other greats such as Chick Corea and Phil Perry. Cardell later wrote a song that found a home on a Norman Connors Cd. We here at Classic Soul Entertainment are very happy that we found Cardell, and soon you will understand why we are.
