Details:
The Clay Colton Band entertains audiences across Southern California with an eclectic blend of Classic Rock Covers, Alternative Rock favorites and authentic original music.

Founded originally in 2000 by guitarists/vocalists Clay Colton and Matt Bongiovanni, under the band name "Bender", the beginnings of the Clay Colton Band took shape as the duo released their first full production studio album "Two Months..." in the fall of 2001.

The Bongiovanni/Colton partnership faded, and in an attempt to continue playing and support the Bender CD, Clay took various gigs at local San Diego venues as a solo artist.

Accompanied by a range of guest artists, the band could number as many as 5 or 6 musicians to as few as 2. Eventually, several musicians would emerge and perform consistently enough to reasonably establish the collaborative effort now known as the Clay Colton Band, and includes B.J. Morgan on drums, Colin "Redneck Joe" Beasley on guitar, Rob Smith on bass, and a few other characters thrown in for variety.

“Looking Back Ahead” marks Colton’s second complete studio album and is the first for this particular group of musicians. It features five all-new original songs written by Colton, three newly remastered and remixed fan favorites from the “Two Months…” album and two signature covers songs from the bands massive repertoire of music.

The album title, “Looking Back Ahead,” is a fitting representation that identifies with both the music and personal journeys of the group. Songs like “Roses Don’t Mean a Thing” and “Daddy’s Last Dance” are a reflection of the never-ending series of fated events occur to each of us during that roadtrip called Life. The albums cover songs, “Holly Holy” and “Watchtower” are two carefully orchestrated tributes to artists that have provided their influences in much of their music.
