I believe God makes all music. But, we tend to stay within reach of what we are personally comfortable with. So we classify and sort things out to fit our idea of what is right and what isn’t. So when the Lord went to work in my life, He included all styles of song.
About 2 years ago I began hearing songs in my head and, no, I don''t need medication! I had asked for the Lord to use me. I just didn''t know what His plan was. I began writing songs down on any and everything. They come at all times. Watering the horses? Get a new song. Working in the garden, there''s a new song. Singing at church, (well, yeah!), there''s a new song!
What to do with all these songs! He had a plan; I just didn''t pay any attention! For a long time. Let me emphasize that, a LONG time! Then the gloves came off and He told me I was either going to get it done, or I was done. I have no idea what ''done'' is, and I don''t want to find out!
One of the things I have learned from all this is that the Lord dreams bigger dreams for me than I could ever dream for myself. He sees me as what I could be while I tend to see myself as what I cannot do. I had no idea what to do, how to go about making a CD! So I jumped off into the deep-end of the pool, fully clothed in the middle of winter, metaphorically speaking! And the Lord taught me how to swim! Not only did I learn to swim when everything seemed impossible, He made sure I had an outrageously great time while I did it! Ya-hoo!
Now I am booking live events that include His music and my testimony. (Who would have thought?!) My life has been filled with many joys and many trials. I know now it was all to get me to this point. There has been many defeats, many tears and moments of paralyzing grief, but He always picked me up, dusted me off and told me to try again. I am so glad I listened.
I am a Texan by birth, a child of God by choice and I sing at His direction. These are His songs, not mine. I have been given the privilege of bringing them to you. There is one thread that runs through the very core of my being and keeps me on track. That is the scarlet thread of the Lord Jesus. I hope you feel the awe and delight I do in these songs. He is so cool! Let me tell you; Jesus ROCKS!
