Details:
When it comes to fresh, new talent among the current crop of singer/songwriters, Charity Chapman is quite possibly one of America''s best kept secrets. Her expressive, pitch perfect performances are indicative of a truly unique artist with an impressive range in both vocals and material. From sweet, soulful ballads to driving, upbeat rockers, her satisfying, "can''t-get-it-out-of-your-head" melodies have a way of pressing the listener''s emotional buttons-leaving them wanting more.

Having performed in some form or other for nearly her entire life, Charity is clearly at home in the limelight. As a result, her audiences are instantly drawn to this engaging beauty as much by her natural command of the stage as they are by her hypnotic, passionate vocals. Born in Florida and raised in Colorado, Charity is now based in Los Angeles and is progressively carving out a place of her own in the industry with her two independent album releases.

Several of Charity''s songs have been placed in television and film, including most recently, "Everything You Want" with Nick Zano, which is playing on ABCFamily and "She Gets What She Wants," both of which are airing currently. She also had tunes on the Felicity DVD, Season IV, the Lifetime TV movie "All You Need", MTV and a CBS mini-series. Charity had a song included on the compilation CD for Top Cow Comic strips (the same company that does Lara Croft, Tomb Raider.) Aside from winning over fans at her Southern California performances, at The Mint, Ghengis Cohen, Santa Anita Racetrack, The Joint and many others, Charity managed to get some of her independent recordings played on Los Angeles'' KLOS-FM''s "Local Licks" program and Santa Barbara''s KTYD-FM''s "New Music Mondays." Charity won KZLA-FM''s talent competition and as a result was the first performer at the "Country Bash Concert" at Irvine Meadows. The headlining performers included Kid Rock & Leann Rimes. Charity played and sang on the "Life of Brian" Brian Douglas Show on KZLA-FM and performed on KZLA''s Peter Tilden Morning Show. She''s been a finalist in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest, the Great American Song Contest and the Garth Brooks Tribute Songwriting Contest. In addition, Charity was one of twelve up-and-coming singer/songwriters invited after an extensive nationwide search to participate in ASCAP''s exclusive Pop Songwriting Workshop.

Charity''s skill and versatility as both writer and performer clearly come across through her music, much of which can seamlessly plug into Pop, Rock and even Modern Country. Charity''s angelic yet powerful delivery is uniquely her own. Her mix of music has resulted in a sound that''s radio-friendly, yet still distinctly sets her apart from the pack. A Music Connection reviewer pegged Charity as having "the emotion of a Rickie-Lee Jones," whose songwriting "could make the charts with her Faith Hill-like hit potential-there definitely is something here."
