Details:
Jonathan Hape is a singer/songwriter from Lexington, Ohio.
His most recent album, "Letters to India" was released in late 2005. "Letters..." is an 11 song concept album based on love, regret, independence, and mythology. Recieving comparisons to R.E.M., Death Cab for Cutie, and Matthew Sweet, the album can best be described as a post-rock work with elements of pop, indie, and 80''s alternative.
Playing most of the instruments (drums, bass, guitars, vocals, and keys) and producing 9 of 11 tracks, Jonathan has found a nitche in the current DIY movement, led by John Vanderslice, Phil Elverum, and Sufjan Stevens.
Nate Phillips of the Winston Jazz Routine played on several tracks and produced the 3 also found on the Trees E.P. while Steev Richter played keys and performed BGV''s on others.
Jonathan has played shows with bands such as Communique, Eric Metronome (aka metronome, aka eric of tiara), Low Skies, and Skeletonbreath at venues around Columbus and Cleveland such as Little Brothers, Skullys, the High Five, the Barking Spider, as well as Baldwin Wallace and Kent State Universities.
Jonathan is currently playing as many shows as he can with his band in support of "Letters to India".
