Upon hearing pianist Jason Myers for the first time, it becomes obvious that he has a deep affinity and respect for the music he is playing. Drawing primarily from a wide repertoire of standards from the 1930''s and 1940''s, he has the ability of capturing the spirit of that time while simultaneously adding his own distinct voice. He has been admired by such artists as Liza Minnelli and Steve Allen.
Jason Myers performs with his trio at Houston''s in San Francisco where he has been the resident pianist since its opening in February 1998. The success and popularity of the group has led to a live recording titled "Cookin'' At Houston''s" which was released in May 2002. The group consists of Myers on piano, Brian Kane on guitar, and Paul Breslin on bass. The arrangements, written by Myers and the group, embrace the tradition of Nat "King" Cole''s trio while the recording itself captures the vintage sound of the 1940''s. He has also performed at the 1999 Monterey Jazz Festival with Clint Baker''s New Orleans Jazz Band, with Mal Sharpe''s Big Money in Dixieland, vocalists Jackie Ryan,Maye Cavallaro, Mary Stallings and Shanna Carlson, and the Dave Rubin trio at Bellagio Las Vegas.
In addition to playing in groups, Myers is equally comfortable playing solo piano and appreciates the freedom it affords. His debut album, "Seems Like Old Times" (released October 1999), is a solo effort which was produced by Myers and vocalist Maye Cavallaro. It has been well-received from both fans and colleagues alike.

The CD includes songs from The Golden Age of American Popular Music as well as two originals, "Indiana Stroll" and "Why Me?," which demonstrate his appreciation for the songwriters of that time.
Jason Myers has also been recognized as a talented songwriter. After meeting Myers in 1997, Steve Allen was impressed by Myers'' compositional skills and he was inspired to write lyrics to several of his songs. The first completed work was a Broadway-type tune entitled "They Said It Wouldn''t Last". In Spring 2000, Myers was asked to record a CD of some of Allen''s recent compositions. Jason was in the middle of preparing for the recording when Allen died the following October.
Jason Myers currently calls the San Francisco Bay Area his home where he lives with his wife Maria, and his son, Tennessee.
