Details:
I made a (some may say foolhardy) decision at a young age to become a professional musician. My love of music really started when I played flute in a band in primary school and continued through high school and university, playing with various bands and the Hunter Orchestra.

In the early nineties I moved to Sydney and started up my business, now called Sydney Wedding Music, performing at weddings and corporate events with Recuerdos Trio, and working as a freelance musician. I enjoyed my music but I always envied the people on the stage singing. It wasn’t until after a life changing illness in my mid twenties that I realised that I really wanted to take up singing.

My Funny Valentine was the first song I sang in public, at a jam session in a little café in Neutral Bay in about 1995. A whole new world of music was opened up to me and I soon started singing with Jane Hullick Trio. In 1999 I moved to Japan, which gave me great opportunities to refine my singing. The Japanese were very welcoming and I had a blast singing in some great bands, including Millennium Joy Gospel choir, Shiny Stockin’s Band and Sparkle Jazz Orchestra.

Upon my return to Sydney in 2001 I continued to build my music business, playing and singing with various groups. This CD represents the culmination of my musical journey so far. I love my music and I hope you love it too!

Guitarist Steve Brien spent most of the 90''s living in the USA, teaching and playing gigs in the greater New York area with many prolific artists including Giacomo Gates, Ali Ryerson and Ralph LaLama.
Prior to this, Steve had established himself on the Sydney scene as a sought-after sideman with artists including the world-renowned Dale Barlow, Keith Stirling, Errol Buddle and Don Burrows. He also toured internationally at this time with many groups - most notably the "James Morrison Quartet".
Presently based in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, he holds a Masters Degree and teaches Jazz Guitar at the NSW Conservatorium of Music.

Bassist Steve Arie has had enormous experience with leading Australian jazz artists including: DIG, Pardon Me Boys, Dale Barlow, Bernie Mcgann, Gyan, Martin Plaza, Andy 500, Frank Bennett, Ten Part Invention, etc. Presently based in Sydney, Steve regularly plays with Australia’s jazz greats locally and abroad.

Drummer John Morrison has delighted audiences for more than 25 years with his humour and dedication to sounds that swing. Equally at home in a small group or big band setting, his musical facility runs the entire spectrum from traditional jazz, swing, Bebop, R&B, Soul and commercial jazz rock.

The eldest of the Morrison family, John has spent much of his musical life playing and recording with his younger brother James Morrison.

After living in New York for over 12 months in the late eighties, John and James returned home to form Australia''s premier jazz big band "The Morrison Bros Big Bad Band". John widened his exposure and experience also playing with a variety of other well-known artists including James Moody, Scott Hamilton, Richie Cole, John and Jeff Clayton, Garry Dial, Jimmy Whitherspoon, Eartha Kitt, Don Burrows, George Golla, and Bob Barnard."
