JAMIE SPARKS - - A soulful talent combining the passion of Seal, the smoothness of Vandross, and the magic of Stevie Wonder.
People are starting to sit up and take notice of this singer/songwriter/producer from Cherry Brook, Nova Scotia. Growing up in this small Canadian Town, Jamie was a part of a very musical family. He played bass guitar, keyboards and did a lot of singing in the neighborhood baptist church. In junior & high schools, he was a part of the jazz and classical ensembles. After high school, jamie began playing gigs with local bands around town and earned a reputation as a top player, and became a saught after musicain.
In 1996, he released his 1st album "Git-Wit-U" followed by "The Time" in 1998 for which he won an East Coast Music Award and was named Dance/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year. In 2002 captured a Juno nomination for Best R&B/Soul Artist.
Jamie has shot 4 music videos, and tracks from all of his CD''s have appeared on compilations form labels such as EMI and Universal Records. His music has sold thousands of copies worldwide, and appeared in a number of TV soundtracks on networks such as Fox, The WB, CTV and CBC.
Jamie has toured the U.S. and Canada appearing on talk shows including The Mike Bullard Show (CTV), Much Music, The Life(ESPN), Pause TV (WB). While living in New York, he performed extensively throughout the city and had time to record new material. Most notably at Daddy''s House Recording Studio owned by P. Diddy.
Jamie has been behind the scenes mostly in the studio writing & producing for other artists. However, he is planning a new release soon....stay tuned.
