Details:
Since the age of 4, Jamia Lynn has been ministering in song in the house of the Lord and abroad.
From her roots in the Apostolic Faith Church, under the pastorate of both her grandfathers, and musical guidance from her mother, Jamia Lynn flourished over the years.

Her earliest recording at age 10, was with The Zion Temple Radio Choir, pastored by her grandfather, Bishop O.C. Garmon, and under the direction of her mother, Juanita J. Evans. Jamia sang happily in the soprano section, as she admired watching her mother play the organ, direct the choir, and sing lead all at the same time.

She started writing music at the age of 12 and was appointed the choir directress and musician at the age of 14. She was the youngest choir member ever, to join the Indiana State Choir of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW). She wrote the vocal arrangements for the song, “God''s Great”, (which she recorded and led, along with her sister & aunt, “The Treble Clefs”) written by the master musician, Craig Tyson. She went on the lead “Joy in My Soul” with the choir, written by the illustrious Henry Neal.

She went on to minister and record with various groups and choirs (Bethel Church, Grand Rapids, MI, Bishop William Abney, pastor, Indiana State Choir COGIC, Mattie Moss Clark) over the years. She has written and produced for such artists as Dwayne Lee, Kim Stratton, Dan Willis & POC, the Illinois State Choir of the PAW, to name a few.

In the year 2000, as interim choir director and vocal technician of the grammy-award winning Thompson Community Singers, she enjoyed working with such greats as Donny McClurkin, Yolanda Adams, V. Michael McKay, Darius Brooks, Percy Bady, and Smokie Norful. She was also a featured soloist on the song, “Show Us the Way” on the Tommies 2000 recording.

Jamia continues to dig deeper into the ministry of the voice. She was a voice teacher at the Dorolyn Academy of Music in Oak Park, Illinois and continues to teach today. She enjoys working with students and helping to bring out the best voice they can offer to the Lord.

She also continues to do studio work as a producer, vocal arranger & technician, and background vocalist, and thoroughly enjoys teaching voice and conducting music workshops, all to the glory of God.
