Jay Ottaway, who splits his time between New England and Europe, is an award-winning songwriter who studied songwriting and blues guitar at the Berklee College of Music (Boston) and cut his teeth in Nashville as a singer-songwriter and critically acclaimed producer (James O''Halloran - The Nashville Sessions, 2005). New Old World is the latest indie release from the Jay Ottaway Band. From the first driving chord of the title track to the last punch out on the final track, Big Bad Bassman, (written by Ottaway and über-bassist, Frank Tetzner), the music lights a fire and keeps stoking the listener until the closing note. The Jay Ottaway Band has appeared on German television and radio and will be touring in Europe this summer. American Songwriter Magazine, the USA Songwriting Contest, the U.K. Songwriting Contest, and the Peacedriven Songwriting Contest have all honored Jay Ottaway.
