Dancehall reggae artist/producer J.P. A.K.A Jean-Pierre was raised in Long Island, NY and is from Haitian ancestry. He combines his sing chant vocal flow with dancehall reggae and hip hop beats. J.P. has been performing and recording since 95. His first project was called "Sound Stress Adjustments" and was released in 1997. "Brothers Keeper" was released in 2000 followed by the EP "Hydroponic"
in 2001. It was around this time that he started his independent label Lion Sound Records. The same year he collaborated with hip hop group the Greenfeens and together opened up for rapper Lil Keke. As a result of freestyling one day in rhapsody studios ; J.P. caught the attention of producer Brian "Redbird" Sewell and ended up on the title track of Mikel Knight''s AKA A-GEE "Hardest Wood outha forest" which has been released nationally on AMC records. Also in 2001 J.P. featured in Bob Marley Fest in San Antonio and other Texas cities. 2002 the artist has returned to Miami, where he once lived in between living in Long Island, NY and San Antonio , Texas. Peaks and Valleys is a project composed of conscience sing chant vocal flow featuring some of San Antionio''s tightest underground rappers/poets over slammin riddum tracks.
