MP3 Jimm Dietzen - Back! Back! You Prawns of Hell!

These songs are ballads, low-fi recordings and strangely beautiful productions made by a hybridMountain Man of the streets and middleclass bohemian...

10 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Modern Folk, ROCK: Acoustic

Details:
I first met Jimm when I was working as a front desk clerk at the Herbert Hotel near SF''s Union Square. He was living there and working as a cook in a homeless shelter. On his days off he''d head out into the streets and railways stations to play guitar and sing tunes from his rather eclectic list of songs. A passerby could hear anything from U2 to Randy Newman to some obscure hippy song and hopefully kick down a little change.
Jimm grew up in Oregon, raised a family and is a grandfather. A few years ago, he decided to leave his job, housing situation and various collections (music, videos, stamps, coins and comic books). Now he resides in Golden Gate Park. Amongst the trees at night he sleeps. In the daylight hours he works as a street musician. "Dead Lion" and "I''m the one your mother warned you about" were recorded in the Park. There''s a tunnel near the Conservatory of Flowers where musicians like to play for the echoey acoustics sound great. The main tracks on "Scrollbreaker''s Blues" were done in a BART Station. If you like songs of wayward characters and metaphysical studies then this is the CD for you. Some of my own personal faves on it are "Butterfish," "Baby''s gone down," and "Clean up." Happy listening Rick Diegtel
