MP3 Jeremy Vogt Band - People in Strange Places

Their message is forged through the simplicity of acoustical arrangements and pure vocals. Or is it really that simple? Could it be a case of "less is more"? Avoiding over-dubbed, distorted, nebulous mish-mash, the band has found their true niche.

11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, ROCK: Modern Rock

Details:
The Jeremy Vogt (vote) Band has had a presence in the Indiana music circuit in one form or another since 1996. Singer/songwriter, Jeremy Vogt, has assembled a unique blend of musicians including Christian Starnes (bass and vocals), Ryan Shore (percussion), and Curtis Cree(lead guitar and vocals) to present the debut album, People in Strange Places.

Music is a strange and special sort of magic that is capable of speaking both to the intellect and to the soul simultaneously. There are a lucky few who are gifted with the ability to communicate using this versatile medium, and we call them artists or musical communicators. The 11 track debut album from the Jeremy Vogt Band exemplifies the universal nature of this magic. Their message is forged through the simplicity of acoustical arrangements and pure vocals, or is it really that simple? Could it be a case of "less is more"? In avoiding over-dubbed, distorted, nebulous mish-mash, the band has found a power that comes from the fundamental appeal of music: powerfully infectious melodies and complementary harmony presented in a way that effortlessly draws the listener into the music.

With an acoustically focused rock fuel, the songs quickly drive to a familiar place where you can easily associate your own experiences. If you find yourself in the music without trying, that says something, doesn''t it? Listening to the disc, you find yourself (or perhaps someone you know) in the songs. If you''ve ever hesitated to tell someone something, “Say It” will have a familiar ring to it. Finding yourself tapping your foot or fingers along with the precise, supporting rhythm of collaborating artist Kenny Aronoff (Mellencamp, Fogerty, and Etheridge) is easy. Aronoff brings an unsurpassed ability to draw the listener into the music through the backbeat door. The strong percussion intro to “Ocean Song” quickly gives way to an ebb and flow between drums and acoustic guitar that gives the listener the impression of waves approaching and retreating from a beach. Perhaps these waves hold the key to our insecurities. If the masks of social reality, pain, love, and need (in short, human emotion) are your thing, “Fallacy” is your song. The sonic landscape is clear from the acoustic slack tuning and upright bass in “Waiting” and “11” to the tasteful B3 solos of Bobby G. Summers (Babyface) in “Ocean Song” and “Simple Serenade.” Attention to detailed lyrics and musical composition help create well-crafted and powerfully thoughtful songs that will command the attention of many listeners.
