Details:
Iron Horse is a Muscle Shoals, Alabama-based band, and although not full time musicians, its members enjoy every aspect of bluegrass music, from serious performances to down-home jam sessions. The first recording effort for this group is a fourteen-song CD entitled, "Ridin'' Out the Storm," released on the B Sharp Records label. Although its members have known each other for many years and have occasionally performed together Iron Horse brings its musicians and vocalists together to produce an entirely new sound and energy from the music they have been playing for twenty-five years. The goal of the group in this venture is to produce and perform the music they love to the highest level their talents will allow. The "Ridin Out The Storm" CD includes ten original songs, including compositions by bluegrass great Jake Landers and Jackson, Mississippi''s Marshall Warwick. Additionally, members Tony Robertson and Ricky Rogers composed six of the ten original songs. The remaining songs include the classic rock hit by the Marshall Tucker Band, "Fire on the Mountain," Blue Highway''s Wayne Taylor song, "Lonesome Pine," and such standards as Flatt and Scruggs'' "Little Girl in Tennessee." Iron Horse is looking forward to a second project that should start recording late 2002/early 2003.

Tony Robertson, the primary tenor vocalist, has played mandolin for over twenty-five years and has played with such noted bands as The Next In Line, Rual Yarbrough, and Flying South. Tony has performed for the past 11 years with The Jake Landers Band.

Ricky Rogers provides baritone vocals and upright bass rhythm. Although a guitar player by all accounts, he has played bass for the past 4 years as a member of The Jake Landers Band. He also sang lead vocal and played guitar with The Next In Line in the late 1970''s.

Vance Henry sings lead and plays rhythm guitar. Vance has been playing guitar for twenty-five years and been involved in various musical endeavors including The Jake Landers Band. He is also proficient on the mandolin and bass when the need arises.

Andy Richardson plays banjo and sings the bass part with the group and is the newest member. He has been playing music over twenty years.
He can also play guitar and Dobro when the need arises.

Their second and third releases, "Fade to Bluegrass" and "Black & Bluegrass", are bluegrass tribute cds to Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne for CMH records. Which can be purchased at https://www.tradebit.com. Iron Horse has also recorded two other projects for CMH. A Modest Mouse Tribute (Release date Nov. 2004) and a Led Zeppelin Tribute(Release date Feb. 2005).
