Details:
Isaac Stevenson, formerly one of the most prominent voices in the San Francisco Bay Area television and radio industry, has presented and performed with a sizable collection of music’s biggest celebrities. Isaac has performed on stage with the band War, Decon Jones, and the Bucket of Blues, and has opened shows for Bob Hope, Johnny Mathis, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, and others. Isaac also produced and hosted one of the nations first live video music programs.

A California native, Isaac received his first opportunity to perform for a large audience singing in a high school spring concert. The show featured talent from the school along with an up-and-coming performer named Bobby Freeman. Through his later teen years, Isaac spent time sneaking into clubs to dance or sing with artists like the Coasters and Little Richard.

In 1968 Isaac joined the Navy, where while in boot camp he became a member of the Blue Jackets Choir. His first assignment out of basic training was aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga. There he joined the ships band, “The Soul Seekers.” The group performed onboard and at the ship’s various ports of call, which included France, Italy, Greece, and Spain. Isaac was next approached by the program director of the ship’s radio station to DJ a radio show onboard the ship. He was an instantaneous and absolute hit.

In 1973 Isaac auditioned for the Armed Forces School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia and became the first male in the history of the Armed Forces to be a rated vocalist. For the next two and a half years he traveled with the navy show-band East, touring the East Coast and South America presenting goodwill and recruiting concerts for the Navy and the State Department.

In 1976 Isaac left the military, returning to the Bay Area to attend college. While visiting a local radio station (KSOL), he once again got the media bug, becoming a highly rated DJ on the highest rated music station in the market. Isaac later went on to develop, produce, and host his own television show, “Magic Number Video,” on KSTS TV 48 in San Jose.

His love for music and Karaoke has resulted in honors as a five-time South-Bay singing champion and top male country vocalist, but there has always been something missing for Isaac. “No one ever knows if you’re going to have success with any particular move,” remarks Stevenson, “especially if it’s in a different direction. I’ve just wanted to record music I enjoy.” “And working with producer Claytoven Richardson on this project, I think I’ve found the missing piece.” “I didn’t just go into this hoping for the best, I’ve been planning to make my voice heard for years.”

A Bay Area Image Builder, Isaac has received numerous media and community service awards.
