"If All Else Fails", six-year veterans of the Southern California underground scene, are finally beginning to gather some major label momentum. Their unique and powerful post-punk rock sound has earned them demo deals with Immortal, Columbia, and, most recently, Universal Records, with whom they are currently working. Their music, a far cry for the love-angst emo and sugary pop-punk flooding today''s popular radio, is rooted in classic songwriting, solid melodies, passionate performance, and diversely inspired lyrics--topics ranging from unrequited love to the morality of nuclear weapons, fallen poets to corrupt record executives. In fact, it is their substance over style attitude that has earned them such a loyal fan base, and fortunately, such loyal management. Friend and benefactor, John Dolmayan, drummer of heavy metal powerhouse "System of a Down," a musician himself, sees the huge potential in the group, and has been pivotal in persuading if all else fails to pursue major label status, despite their independent views and sound. He has opened many industry doors for the band, but it is their undeniable talent and songs that have kept them open. "We think we can really get something profound and moving out there--and not only out there, but to a lot of people. The lack of sincerity in popular music today, quite honestly, disgusts us, and we''re hell-bent on providing something honest and unique."
