Details:
After a grueling non-stop radio tour with the likes of STP, Fuel, Linkin Park and Disturbed, the sound of the band had become a bit heavier and darker, naturally, being in such hard company. The group was very aggressive about being noticed while on their cross-country trek and were in no mood to ever be the "light-load" on any of the shows they were billed on. They never were...

Upon returning home from almost of year of being on the road, the label/band team had many different views on what direction the band should pursue in light of the changing times and state of music''s importance to the now forever-changed world. The band entered Crescent Moon Studios in Miami, Florida and started pre-production on what was thought to be the next offering for Sony. During this rigorous schedule of work, VALLEJO had somehow gone through more major press and radio appearances for Epic/Sony, the Fuel tour, the WATCHA tour, 9/11 (!), the makings of war with the Middle East, lost loved ones, break-ups w/ long-time spouses, many bouts w/mind-altering substances, and countless nights kicking back with Jack (Daniels) and all of their beautiful friends. It was a truly challening and trying time for the group. The tension in the air was thick and heavy. And so became the music.

What you hold in your hands is the product of where VALLEJO was during this period. The band parted ways with Sony in January 2002, and this album was never even so much as considered for any release date. The experience with such a big conglomerate like Sony had left the band numb, looking only forward, with no interest in anything that reminded them of such a confusing and dark period in their life.

The celebratory "Stereo" was written and recorded that following fall and released on Nov. 5, 2002, just 9 months after their departure from Epic/Sony. The equivalent amount of time it takes to conceive a child...it was a beautiful baby. Oh, how everybody loved and embraced him.

But now, from out of nowhere, arrives another...the bastard son. Born one chilly night under a black sky..
