MONTY GUY''s music creations continue to be original, interesting, and entertaining. Although the new CD collection shows a staunch determination to explore the realm of new possibilities in original song, specifically instrumental creations, MONTY is staying true to the new tones of unique thought that brought him here. "I want to focus on music our talented musicians would like to play from time to time; I figure that''s the stuff the rest of us would enjoy listening to", says MONTY.
In yielding to numerous requests from his supporters to "give us something new", MONTY decided to release this new material early. We may have noticed that his release schedule appears to be every two years. With the overwhelmingly positive and warm response to his 52nd GRAMMYs celebration CD EXOTERIC LOVE, he agreed to release new material earlier than planned.
The new collection opens with the earnest, yet spirited, mid-tempo R&B/Pop fusion ballad entitled ''The Beautiful Magic Of You'' (La Hermosa Magia De Ti). This song is reminiscent of the heart fluttering love melodies of yesteryear, with its earnest attempt to convey the passionate, yet sensuously delicate, sentiments consistent with those crafted by the superb lyricists of earlier eras. This song is featured as the solo vocal track on this CD. According to MONTY, this song turned out to be the single most challenging track produced thus far in his recording career. The project''s new direction is heralded by the instrumental track ''Above The Clouds'' (Por Encima De Las Nubes). MONTY''s love of instrumental songs has been evident from the inception of his music producing career. The collection continues with music inspired by the movie script Shaolin Zulu, which features the exploits of adventure, rescue, and safe delivery by fictional metro action figure Staunchey Sedgwick; an attorney PI trained as a Shaolin Priest, whose successful practice includes satisfied clients in both downtown and uptown social circles. He is affectionately referred to in some community settings as ''El Senor Abogado De Piel Oscura''. The movie score''s song series, some of which will be included on this new CD, includes ''Staunchey''s Law'', ''Staunchey Took My Case'', and ''Staunchey Faces Danger''. Clearly, originality and excellence of production quality were not sacrificed in presenting these new works ahead of schedule. The collection is rounded off with an instrumental reprise of ''The Beautiful Magic Of You'' (La Hermosa Magia De Ti). This track is entitled ''Hold Me Like That''; a prevailing lyrical theme that describes the emotional intent of the vocal rendition. It is included, says MONTY, simply because it''s a nice tune.
As the production process burgeoned, this collection revealed itself as MONTY''s most challenging project to date. The adventure required the exhaustive multiple studio return visits suggested by extremely critical engineering sound reviews. In fact no less than fourteen final mix masters were prepared! This is in addition to the numerous dynamic sound review mixes that focused entirely on the critical sound engineering aspect of this project. At one point, an entire all night studio session was dedicated to effectively managing and resolving the issue of two essential notes which MONTY felt were essential to achieving the enhanced artistic ideal which galvanized the passion that fueled and engendered the manifestation of this new collection of original musical works entitled ABOVE THE CLOUDS (Por Encima De Las Nubes). The sincerity of effort is genuine, and clearly evident in the quality of accomplishment achieved by this new CD of Easy Listening Orchestral Pop music by the inimitable MONTY GUY.
