Seven Against Thebes https://www.tradebit.com is the latest in a wave of fresh new music to emerge out of the Seattle Music scene. But to classify 7AT a late 90’s Grunge spin-off would be incorrect. No doubt bands like Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Screaming Trees, Soundgarden & Tool have had their influences, but 7AT’s sound is not Grunge, Heavy Metal or even Hard Rock. The music of 7AT has been described as Progressive-Alternative Rock with a strong emphasis on vocal melody. You will also notice hints of exotic instrumentation along the way from Sitar’s to unique percussive elements. This unique “East meets West” combination gives 7AT it’s unique signature sound that is easy to pick out from other bands..

The band is fronted by vocalist Rusty and has been compared to modern Layne Staley (Alice in Chains), Mark Lanegan (Screaming Tress) and Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave). But Rusty is one vocalist that avoids all the typical stereotypical pigeonholing by simply transcending other vocalists. This is especially true on stage. Rusty’s voice is also backed up by the lushly layered musical production of 7AT guitarist/producer Cyrus Rhodes.
