The track came about when I moved into an area in Los Angeles, known for its long standing violent gang problems. Paradoxically the place was beautifully nestled into the hillside surrounded by copious greenery, and facing a huge magnolia tree which was home to an abundance of birds and squirrels. Quite beautiful and serene, in spite of drive-by shootings less than a couple of blocks away. The song is about finding calm within calamity.
