Top 64 CMT Music City Madness 09 Finalist. A band made up of a Mother n law / Daughter n law & 2 long time family friends. A walking country song. The band has stayed dedicated through break ups, trials, tribulations, war & family tragedy. Rooted in Country yet sounds as modern as a hybrid car.
We are Rush Springs from Southern Oklahoma. Top 64 Finalist for CMT''s 2009 Music City Madness Contest.
My band mates include my daughter in law who I have played music with for 10 years now. We have been thru the In-law thing and survived. As well as our drummer at one time was engaged to my daughter. They ended their relationship in 2007. All is good lol.
My son Sergeant Thomas Spradling USMC who is also married to our lead vocalist Beckie survived 2 tours in Iraq and one Afghanistan tour. By the Grace of God he is home safe. Beckie and I have written and recorded a song about the experience of a loved one at war called “Desert Sun."
We have been through so much but yet our Faith in God has pulled us through. Our passion for music is our connection. Music is the glue that holds us together. The love of music over rides anything.
We also came close to losing my Father Christmas Day of 2008. In front of the entire family my Father had a stroke Praise The Lord he pulled through. The following year a tornado blasted through our hometown destroying my parent’s home (same one who had the stroke) with my daughter and unborn granddaughter Kamryn in the house. They survived a near death experience. My granddaughter kamryn was born April 23rd 2009. Due to the trauma my daughter experience from the tornado my Granddaughter was born with breathing problems therefore was airlifted to Dallas. Little Kamryn almost didn''t make it. By the Grace of God she pulled through. I also lost my fiancée of 6 years to Lou Geriches Disease back in 2002.
If it were not for music I don’t know how I would have made it through this great loss. All through these trials and tribulations our music is still the tie that binds.
