I have been composing music for years on the guitar, piano and keyboard. However, after hearing Suzanne Ciani’s “Velocity of Love” hit album in 1987. I was forever sold on music that would become known as the New Age movement. Through the years I wasn’t able to find enough New Age music to listen to that I loved so I started composed my own songs and ended up writing over sixty-five original songs.
With the dream of one day completing my first New Age album, I recorded my first solo song, “City Moods” in a recording studio back in 1987; however, many priorities shifted for a time in my life, but the dream always survived.
My dream of my New Age CD finally became a reality in January 2010 when I walked into Spirit West Studios in Salt Lake City, Utah and starting recording my first album there with the help of producer and audio engineer, Matthew Montoya. Along with the constant and full support of my terrific family and friends the eleven songs on this album entitled, “Sunday Solace” were completed and published in June of 2010 and will soon be released in August of this year!
“Ralph’s music has evolved into beautifully constructed and complex piano and electronic keyboard compositions. It’s a perfect blend of classical and modern arrangements,” said Matthew Montoya of Spirit West Studios. Matthew used his audio engineering skills and musical talents in the studio by synthesizing various sounds of instruments to augment and enhance songs on the album.
Ralph’s songs and style have been inspired by artists over the years like Suzanne Ciani, David Lanz and Diane Arkenstone, George Winston, Mike Oldfield, Jon Schmitz, Michael Mclean, Enya and others.
