Headed by singer/songwriter/guitarist Jon Nelson (aka Samuel), ''Eden Mi Qedem has been amazing and drawing fans with its breathtaking and dynamic sound. World music? Psychedelic Jam band? Why is the new disk called "Semantra"?
Semantra are ancient wooden percussion instruments that have been used throughout the Middle East for over millennium. Their main purpose: to summon people to prayer. For ‘Eden Mi Qedem, music IS semantra. Eden Mi Qedem’s music is also a study in the semantics of mantra. It examines the ancient connection between words and transcendence, and invites its listeners to join in this exploration.
