A note from the producer …

This album is the culmination of a process of worshipping, writing, waiting, writing, and worshipping over the span of 10 plus years. This project really began 10 years ago, but the actual time frame for getting this all done was about 6 months. BJ and Lisa began their relationship simply by writing songs together before there was any thought of boyfriend - girlfriend, husband - wife. They are now married and have two children and are still writing songs and worshipping together. This project is not an end, but rather a beginning. One of the most difficult tasks was deciding which songs to place on this first album, which is a great problem to have. The next challenge was capturing what happens live and repackaging it in such a way that the heart and spirit of the songs shine. God blessed us with the most amazing people to play on this project and each and every one of them came not just to play, but came to worship and did their part as unto the Lord. We began the album with BJ and Lisa tracking scratches with Chad Lawson playing ''keeper'' piano, wurly, and hammond. Chad is an amazing pianist/keyboardist and has a profound sensitivity to those around him and a heart to worship. It is so inspiring to work with a musician who has such great skill, gifting, and talent, yet practices in his playing the truth that ''I must decrease that Jesus may increase''. The laying down of the basic tracks was a worship event in itself and provided the foundation for the whole project. An interesting note is that during this time we had BJ and Lisa''s children in the control room, Ava Jo age 3 and Judah James who turned 1 during the project. There were lots of times when Lisa would be holding Judah in one arm and singing while BJ played guitar and sang with Ava Jo playing nearby. This album gives a snapshot of lifestyles that are built around Jesus and built around worship 24/7.

Our next step was to get Al Sergel (drums) and Andy Kurzweg (bass) in to lay down the rhythm sections. While we waited we did keeper acoustic and electric guitar parts, editing, arranging, and refining. God always has a perfect time for everything, and we saw this time and time again in this process! When Al and Andy came, Al brought his 3 girls for each of the 3 tracking days. We had day camp with Al''s 3 girls, Ava Jo and Judah, and my girl Rachel. At certain times Al could look out the tracking room window and see his girls jumping on the trampoline which he thought was pretty cool. What a gift Al and Andy are!! It was amazing to see their interaction as drummer/bass player as if they were joined at the hip! These guys jumped right in the middle of the worship stream and really brought their all! What a great 3 days it was!

Our next arrival was Leonard Jones. Wow - we had fun with Leonard. He did everything from bazooki to electric guitar to strings / fiddle. It was so much fun when Leonard came in because we had progressed to the point where we had pretty good temp mixes done and had the majority of lead vocals in, so Leonard''s parts really were fantastic ''add to'' parts. We had to try and pace ourselves because we were all like kids in a candy store - we had a blast - and Leonard is such a blessing! We also had Sarah Stephens come in and play cello parts to the violin string parts Leonard put down. Sarah is another amazing gift from God and she really made a great contribution to the project. Sarah also sang BGVs and helped us wrangle all the other singers, what a blessing.

To put the icing on the cake we were fortunate to get the amazing James Duke to drop in and lay down some really nice guitar parts in the way that only James can do it. James is such an intuitive musician and is really in tune and sensitive musically and spiritually. We only hung out for 5 or 6 hours, but the parts he played really added a lot and helped tie and bring things together. There were definite spaces and places in the music that were there with James in mind, and he nailed them all!

Our background vocal session was another great event. We didn''t get the BGVs done till a few days before we went to mix. We had one plan fall thru to do the BGVs - but God had it all in hand! I gave Sarah Stephens a call and asked it she knew anyone, and it turns out she knows everyone! We had an awesome group of singers show up thanks to her and Andy Kurzweg (who also sang) and it was so obvious that God put the whole thing together. We had worship leaders and other artists in our area show up and it was amazing to think that with just a one-day notice all these people''s schedules coincided with ours (thank you Jesus!) . It was an amazing session and a real time of worship - wow!

The final step in the process was to final mix and master; another amazing event. Our deadline was getting close and I was getting pulled on by other projects as well as this one and needed some fresh ears on this thing! I knew it was a total long shot, but . . . the way God had taken care of everything else, not that long of a shot . . . I called Susan Tabor over at GAT3 to see if Glenn had any time - like right now - to mix this project on his SSL 9000j mega console . . . and sure enough . . . they had just had a project move to a later date and had a hole to fill in the schedule . . . what a coincidence!! Thank you Jesus - again! Man! What a blessing Susan and Glenn are, and what a gift Glenn is! He brought so much to this project in the final mix and master; and God set the whole thing up!

I could go on and on and on about how God worked every detail of this album project out - but - the best way I can say it is that working on this project changed my life, and God showed me through it that praying and trusting in Him, His goodness and grace, and His commitment to work all things for our good is the reality of where I want to live my life. It is really awesome to have God teach you thru a life experience more about His faithfulness and goodness - Thank you Jesus!
