Details:
Colours Of One are a melodic alternative rock band based in Bridgend, South Wales, which, in recent years, has proved to be a hotbed for new musical talent. The band have big rock sound which could be said to contain echoes of the powerful vocal style heard in grunge acts such as Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, th e inventive guitar work of modern rock bands such as Coheed & Cambria and Incubus, and the driving drum work found in acts such as Paramore and Anberlin.

Formed in January 2008, initially under the name Evil I, the band immediately established themselves amongst the South Wales music scene, playing successful shows all over the region; including outings at Cardiff''s International Arena, Clwb Ifor Bach, Barfly, Student''s Union as well as Swansea''s Sin City, Neath''s Windsor Club and countless other clubs, pubs and universities throughout Wales. The band''s first year also saw several trips across the border, where they received a 5-Star review at Manchester Academy 3, played on the main stage at London''s Islington Academy, and Clapham Grand Th eatre. The band then capped off 2008 by winning the long-running Black River Arts Battle of the Bands in their home town.

Additionally Colours Of One have earned considerable airplay on many Welsh radio stations, as well as London and Bristol based stations; these include Nation Radio, Total Rock Radio and Afan FM to name but a few.

At the beginning of 2009, the band recorded their latest work, titled ‘Bad News Makes Big Noise’; the follow-up to their well received debut EP ‘Kicks’. Self-released through their own label, Rogues Gallery Records, in September 2009; this mini album is an amalgamation of the band’s most aggressive and most melodic material to date, and lyrically explores themes ranging from personal tragedy to dissatisfaction with the British political class.

Colours Of One have worked tirelessly to establish a strong fan base, and abide by the ethos that a fan''s loyalty is an invaluable asset and should not be taken for granted. To show this appreciation the band has developed a free music mailing list, where monthly e-newsletters are sent out accompnaied by an mp3 of an exclusive track. This has proved to be extremely popular with existing fans and very effective in attracting interest from new fans. The list now boasts hundreds of members from as far away as Austrailia to as near as their native South Wales.

Colours Of One play melodic alternative rock at its best; expect catchy choruses, heavy riffs, mind-bending guitar solos and outstanding vocals. Having been tipped as Wales'' next big success story, Colours Of One are a band to look out for.
