The subject matter of his songs ranges from banker bailouts to unbridled corporate marketing practices, Winston Churchill’s dilemmas and reveries to the vastness of the Pacific Arena in WW II, an independant Kierkegaardian Hawaiian feral cat to a pastoral contemplation of the source of mead, Nick Drake’s oblique biography and legend, a musical description of snowfall , a meditation on a modern dance impromptu, the soul language of the heart , A.E Houseman’s sagacity, wit and meter, Benny Andersen in translation (from Danish) into upbeat English, Georg Trakl’s raw nightmare formulaics, the mystery of B Traven as it relates to useless avarice, and an ambitious Celtic history anthem invoking premier works of art as characters. He then deconstructs and defunctions and defibrillates global corporate marketing again in the German version of Orange Fanta. It is an album to be listened to many times ever to hear something new.
It is a nice songwriting beginning for a former busker who sat on the second step in Jorck''s Passage in Copenhagen or a corner restaurant jazz soloist in Texas.
