Details:
Antonette Goroch (aka AntonetteG) is a singer, songwriter, mother, writer, and world traveler. A vocalist and storyteller since the age of 5, she has delved into various musical styles including opera, musicals, rock, classical, country, folk and blues. Though she has been compared to other contemporary indie folk artists such as Neko Case, Penelope Houston and Mazzy Star, Antonette draws from this broad base of influences for a sound both pleasingly familiar yet at once all her own.

Antonette has spearheaded an array of diverse projects over the past fifteen years, co-producing several full length recordings as the singer/bassist for the all-girl indie rock trio, the Amazon Mollies (I’m With The Band/ 1995 Molly Rock/1997, Promised Land/1999, Sugar Molly/2000); the singer/guitarist for the folk rock band, Liesl’s Wet Dress (Shedding Skin/2001, Gingerbread Aliens/2004, Spielen/2005); and the singer/guitarist for the indie folk duet, The Hobbyists (The Hobbyists, 2006). Throughout each of these incarnations, Antonette has been recognized for her voice, melodies and lyrics, described as "a compelling blend of intelligence, innocence and insight, with a dash of intellectual insanity."

An avid traveler, Antonette has toured throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe for the last 10 years in bands and as a solo performer opening for various artists including Joseph Arthur, Ed Harcourt, and Penelope Houston (of the Avengers). She has also collaborated and performed as a guest with bands/artists including, Smile God Loves You, Poetics, ShellShag, Gravid Wives and The Billy Talbot Band (of Neil Young & Crazy Horse).

Antonette''s first solo recording, "AntonetteG & the Golden Boys" was released on Rodent Records in May 2009 as a special edition vinyl single. The white vinyl collector''s edition release (200 numbered copies), features "My Horseshoe," a country infused ballad with pleasing rough edges and soothing reverb soaked harmonies. The B side "Pretty Pictures" harkens back to her girl group roots, with a new wave rock feel.

Her first full length solo recording, "Pretty Pictures", (which also includes both tracks from the single) was released in 2010. The nine-song release offers a culmination of the last three years of sometimes blissful, sometimes tumultuous recording work and includes three songs co-produced by Billy Talbot (of Neil Young & Crazy Horse) and performed with The Hobbyists (Greg Turner/guitar, Billy Talbot/bass, Elton Ridge/drums, Tommy Carns/lapsteel,guitar); two songs co-produced with Elton Ridge at Rodent Records, performed by “The Golden Boys” (Nick Dumitriu/guitar, Nicolas Dobbratz/ drums, Jerome Steegmans/bass) and three songs co-produced and performed with Nicolas Dobbratz (Of Montreal/Sugar & Gold) and Jerome Steegmans (Sugar & Gold) at Coppertone Studios in Berkeley, CA.

“AntonetteG’s material reveals a variety of influences. The song ''My Horseshoe'' has a country flair, while ''Pretty Pictures'' shows her rock side. ''No Joy For The Soldier'' suggests a Creedence Clearwater Revival influence. The song describes military personnel struggling to adjust when they return from battle, a timely topic given our nation’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.”—John Larson, Tacoma Weekly
