Details:
This album was originally recorded in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1995 for Question Mark? Records. Out of print for over 10 years, but regularly reclaimed by numerous sources who managed to see one of the hundreds of concerts performed in the UK and continental Europe from 1992-1999.

Recorded by Keith Mitchell (Cocteau Twins) this eclectic selection of songs ranges from the acoustic ‘Flywheel’ to the anthemic ‘Shouting’ to the all-out tribal rage of ‘Kettensäge’. Acoustic and electric guitars and basses are complimented by the addition of classical violin, digderidoo, mandolin and various percussion elements, all in the service of a strong lyrical song-writing approach.

Regularly referred to as a ‘turbulent collision of musical worlds’, the album June Frost was, without knowing it, a precursor to Album Orientated Rock. This suite of songs, in effect, refer to the difficulties of travel, both through time and space.
From the imagined landfall of Christopher Columbus, to a children’s book plane catastrophe, to stranded whales and chainsaws, the sum of these themes and atmospheres creates a powerful, melodic and thought-provoking whole that has weathered the test of time.

All songs by Robert Hancock
(except Watermountain – Len Costantini)

Robert Hancock – Voice, Guitars, Mandolin
