At first glance, you may not have connected the name Felipe’ Rose to the iconic group “The Village People.” But Felipe’ Rose, the Native American (Lakota Sioux) and (Puerto Rican) of the world-famous group, who has been entertaining millions of fans over the past thirty-plus years and has sold well over 100 MILLION albums in his successful career, is still proving he has what it takes to please his millions of loyal followers.
In 2000, Rose began his solo career and was nominated and won several Native American Music Awards for his single “Trails of Tears,” and opened for the 5th Annual Native American Music Awards. That evening, Rose picked up his first NAMMY for Best Historical Recording. The then went on to follow it up with Red Hawk Woman, which brought Rose, “Song Writer of the Year Award with his long-time song writing partner and producer – Forrest “Frosty” Lawson.
Today, Felipe Rose’ is still going at breakneck speed and creating music that is garnering attention across the Native Music Industry - internet radio shows and now to dance clubs around the world.
