If you remember the earlier years of Rock when ”Led Zeppelin”, “MC5”, and “Jimi Hendrix” were playing and mix that with the music of today, you would have the music of the “Hot Finks”. These band members are very versatile and spontaneously come up with their music from the feelings they have in their day to day lives. The members of the Hot Finks are neighborhood friends from Colorado Springs, CO that have been getting together over the years as the band has started to grow.
Guitarist Benjamin Higgins started the band in 2003 with Cedric Harrison performing the duties as the drummer and Tony Merrick in the front-man’s position as the singer. The band became a three man band, but the sound they produced was amazing for only two instruments, (guitar and drums). The band consisting of the three members played at several local locations and even entered into a local talent contest. The band did so well, they placed second-place only to a band that had more instruments and popularity than they did. They went through a couple of different Bass players and decided to give Mondo Harrison, Cedric’s brother, a chance to take over the Bass.
Mondo played the keyboards for a trial period in the band when they were trying to find their new sound and decided to drop the keyboards along with the new Bassist they took on, because he wasn’t performing to expectations. Mondo took over the Bassist duties and now they have the sound they are looking for in this new era of the Hot Finks. The Hot Finks are a band that performs diversified Classic Rock with a mix from the 80''s era to the modern Rock and Punk of today. There is something for every Rock ''n'' Roller to hear from this band. Their fan base grows each month as they play the local night clubs, opening for the more popular bands in the state.
The Hot Finks have released their first CD independently on Tooky Records out of Colorado Springs, CO. The next CD release will be even a bigger hit with the new musical style and lyrics that will be forth coming.
