The Story
The story behind Hostile started on a dark and rainy night in 2004.
2 handsome men met in an old fishing parlor down by the harbor
in Reykjavík. They were on a quest for what they thougt was missing
in the Icelandic music landscape…
A band that could play heavy and fast but still be catchy and fun.
They immidiately started searching for the right people to join the band.
It took almost 1 and a half year but all of the bad auditions were
worth it! Jonni and Elvar were able to find :
Bassplayer with a temper of a Sealion,a nose for trouble,
and an healty appetite for alcohol. A man we would come to call the model.
Singer with some unresolved issues and a problem with going to rehearsals. The man we call “The Diva”.
And finally a guitar player with fingers fast and acurate as a computer and the laughter of an insane cartoon caracter.
When the formation of the band was completed then it was the formality of writing some songs. It was a difficult process since no one in the band could stand the smell of eachother but somehow they were able to create some killer music with as much anger to the world as they had for one another.
Playing the local bar scene didn´t seem so dumb since most of the members spend more time there then at their homes.
It didn´t take long for the people in Iceland to take notice and Hostile was playing almost everywhere where metalheads are able to get together without getting a tan treatment.
Places like Grand Rokk, Eistnaflug, TÞM, Bar 11.
Then Elvar, but not without a severe hangover, came with an idea of going to the studio and record a small portion of the songs they had written. They had written so their fans would be able to hear something from the band.
In april 2006 they put 2 songs of their self titled album on https://www.tradebit.com and their myspace site https://www.tradebit.com , and immidiately started to get noticed by fellow metalheads around the world.
