Details:
Her real name is Hanne Margrethe Fredriksen Sørvaag. A nice name – no doubt about that – but perhaps not the perfect stage name. And that’s why Hanne chose stage name Paris when she released her first album "You know me". She was signed on Sony, and several of her songs from this album were on the Norwegian hit40 for weeks.
This time she is back as ”Hanne”. With new material and her own record company, the time was right to return to her own name. But let’s start where most stories begin:

The beginning
Hanne wasn’t old when she started thinking about a career as an artist, but it was her stay at Toneheim folkehøgskole that really kicked it off. This was where she put together her first demo, which she sent around to several record companies and crossed her fingers.

Contract signing
After completing the studies at Toneheim, Hanne went on to further musical studies – this time at Bårdar Song and Dance Insitute. But in the meantime Sony received a demo from a young, musical girl, and Hanne’s first contract with a record company was soon to be signed. Hectic years followed, where she tried to combine school attendance and work with her album. After Bårdar, Hanne was accepted at Paul McCartney’s school in Liverpool, LIPA – but unfortunately had to decline as she was in the midst of completing her album. And in 2002, the album was released. Apart from Hanne’s own material, "You know me" included a song signed by Per Gessle, half of the well-known, Swedish duo Roxette. This, and several of the other songs on the album climbed their way in to Hit 40, and stayed there for weeks. In the meantime, Hanne was touring all over Norway.

Her own record company

"Don´t miss the diamonds along the way, every road has lead us here today. Life is what happens while you´re making plans, and all that you need is right here in your hand".

Hanne’s next album is right around the corner. This time she is signed by herself and her new record company, Diamond Road Music. Sheryl Crow fans might find the name familiar, as it is inspired by Hanne’s great idol; Sheryl Crow, and the philosophy in the song "Diamond Road".

Songwriting
In addition to releasing her own album, Hanne also writes songs for various projects,as she is signed to Universal Publishing as a songwriter. She works with songwriters who have written songs for Cher, N''Sync, Backstreet Boys, Tina Turner & Kylie Minogue. Her songs have been recorderded all over the world. Latest song is "My Destiny", performed by Katharine McPhee, one of the two remaining finalists in the American Idol final, on the 23rd of May 2006. The show has more than 50 million viewers.

Hanne writes all her songs – either by herself or together with others. On her latest album, she has cooperated with Tommy Berre, Svein Olav Hyttebakk, Reidar Skår and Thomas Who, among others. She plays together with her band, consisting of Andreas Bye on drums, Halvard Aase on bass and Ture Janson on guitar. The album is expected in 2006, and even though the "Paris-style" still is present, the singer/songwriter expression is more evident this time – with catchy poplines spiced up with a dash of country
