LATEST CD RELEASE FROM HARRY MILLER

"Jazz Beauty Supply" is the first CD in 4 years from acclaimed New York City based jazz pianist and composer Harry Miller.

This CD features the awesome and spirited musicianship of Harry''s contemporary jazz group "The Satisfied Souls", which consists of Steve Slagle (saxophones), Dave Edwards (electric bass), Joe Foster (drums), Harry (piano and synthesizers), with special guests Kate McGarry (voice), Avi Bortnick (guitar), and Bobby Reveron (percussion).

"Jazz Beauty Supply" opens with the whistle-friendly melody of the title track, followed by the gentle and reflective ballad "The Last Word is Love". Next up is the funky saxophone feature "Without A Doubt", followed by the New Orleans/reggae tinged groove of "The Landing". The latin percussion driven "Cheesequake" is an extended form composition which leads into the uplifting sounds of "Believe in Love". "Flow" was partially inspired by the music of Ralph Towner and features an amazing solo from Steve Slagle; the set ends with the rocking funk jam "Miller''s DeLight".

Harry Miller has led his own groups for the past twenty years, performing at jazz venues all over the east coast. In addition, his experience as a freelance keyboardist on the NYC scene has encompassed a wide variety of musical contexts, including jazz, rock, funk, reggae, west African, Indian devotional chanting, theatrical, dance, church, and experimental groups.

During 2002-2003, Harry toured in trumpeter Maynard Ferguson''s Big Bop Nouveau Band, performing 100 concerts with the veteran bandleader. During a typical Maynard Ferguson concert, Harry was featured as a soloist, impressing audiences across the USA.

Miller has released three recordings under his own name prior to "Jazz Beauty Supply": they are "Paradox Fossils", "Live at the Museum" (available here on https://www.tradebit.com - see the left hand column), and "Open House" (out of print). All of the recordings feature Harry''s original compositions.
