The Story of Hero Hera
In another time, on a planet much like our own, one woman’s voice inspired a revolution that toppled the ruling elite of the Corporatocracy. Her arresting aura and defiant anti-Corp anthems won her millions of fans and she scored sixteen straight global number one hits before she mysteriously disappeared. This is the story of Hero Hera, the greatest global rock star ever to step on stage and scream out her pain, joy and defiance.
Rumours surrounding Hera’s disappearance after her final superconcert in the Southern Americas suggested that she had collapsed from exhaustion. Others intimated that she had been assassinated. Officially, Hera’s publicists claimed that she had retired from performing and sought solace on an island in the South Seas far from the pressures of her career and the clamour of her fans. But her continued absence fed the rumours. For a brief period of time the missing Hero Hera became a greater global influence that she had been when in full view.
The Corporatocracy responded with punitive action, making it a global offence to possess any Hero Hera recordings, images, or information, physical or virtual. Stashes were raided, seizures made, and storage devices erased. Within a decade, Hera was forgotten by all but a hardcore group of followers who became known as the 21st Century Subversives.
These subversives believed that Hera was still alive and had gone into hiding. They felt she had left clues for a Fated One to locate her and lead a revolution to overcome the Corporatocracy. They scoured the cyber annals and recovered all that remains of Hero Hera’s legacy: these eleven songs.
