A flash in the pan, or a bright new star?
I always had a love for good music, I just only recently acquired a means to compose my own. Since my first tune, in 2000-2001, I have compiled a library of 41 compositions using computer software, primarily MTV Music Generator. Considering the fact that I am not a schooled musician, I feel good about this accomplishment. My process of creation being painstakingly slow, I have ended up with works that I myself enjoy listening to over and over.
I created most of these titles while using headphones - so that I did not disturb those close by - so I must say that they sound better with headphones (if you like space ships flying through your head) and the intricacies are more easily heard when one does not crank up the bass.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
A little something about the tracks: my brain interprets music visually, I can''t help it. I see music in shapes; I see rough and smooth areas; I see direction, motion, action. Just so you know where I''m coming from. ''Walking Home'' always suggests to my mind the music video that would make it complete. ''Bone Dance'' is a little Halloween number filled with dancing skeletons. ''Los Frolic'' presents my mind with images of itenerent farm workers partying and enjoying life at the end of the work day. ''Hosting Nazca'' is that whole thing about the lines on the Nazca Plains. The primitives gather at dusk, with torches in hand, space themselves along the lines and watch the light show. There is always an image associated with the music I produce, and that''s what makes it exciting for me.
This is a first in my life: that this bit of music was set before the public. But, in the midst of the Katrina disaster, with such unexpected loss of life, my older sister, Dolores, hundreds of miles away in Georgia, on September third, also died - just another fallen leaf in an autumn of souls.
I wish to dedicate this album to Dolores.
