Musical Influences: Hendrix, Funkadelic, Tom Petty, the Stones, early Johnny Winter, Leon Russell, Delbert McClinton, Walter Trout, Robbin Ford, John Prine, Dire Straights, Poppa Chubby, Bryan Adams, Van Morrison and a hundred more. Love, addictions, depression, joy, questions, all the standard life stuff.
What were my goals for this project? Unique and unpretentious songs. Songs you can listen to over and over, and still feel. Songs with heart. Non-mysterious lyrics, about everyday emotions. Guitar work that doesn''t imitate anyone in particular. Guitar licks that are sexy and interesting, but not the focus of the song. Songs that fuse blues, rock, jazz, country and soul influences. Songs that don''t buckle to a formula. To provide a definitive answer to: What is the meaning of life? (of course that’s in the last minute of one of the songs, a clever marketing ploy!)
Avoid if: You are looking for polish without substance, you’re into metal, rap, techno, formula songs or light folksy acoustic.
