MP3 Eight to the Bar - Something Old, Something New, Something Rhythm, Something Blues

A mix of swing, Motown, and bluesy rock originals

13 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Swing/Big Band, BLUES: Rhythm & Blues

Details:
This is Eight to the Bar''s most varied CD. It has their famous rendition of "T''ain''t What You Do", the version of choice for the "shim sham" dance at any given swing dance; beautifully lyrical, powerful rendition of sax classic "Soul Serenade", the most requested song at any ETTB concert; and then it goes all the way over to the "other side of town" for a very funky rendition of "Sex Machine" and a soul stirring performance of Otis Redding''s great ballad, "These Arms of Mine". Original tunes include Cynthia Lyon''s bluesy (and true) story of a young boy she befriended who died way too early ("Short Life of Trouble"), and a funky cover version of Betty Wright''s classic "Clean Up Woman". Throw in the Latin-flavored original, "Cold, Cold, Cold", and James Brown''s bluesy "Tell Me What I Did Wrong", Count Basie''s big band "Do You Want to Jump Children?" and you have a huge mix of varied and exciting interpretations of roots music.
