E-THR was started by long time friends Jimmy Gumina and Paul Logus. The two met while working on Jimmy''s other projects that included Noisy Mama and Hounds of Desire. They made songs without any guidelines; focusing on personal taste and no compromise.
This was their inspiration.
They needed a great singer to match the great tracks they came up with, one name came to mind,
Paul Skowron.
Paul''s blistering range and depth of voice has ensured he could handle the extreme vocal duties.
Recording commenced at Jimmy''s Long Island studio; additional recording, production and mixes were done at Paul Logus'' Central Park studio.
Chris Merullo,"Chis" was tapped as E-THR bassist. Like Paul Skowron, he has roots in Metal and played with Jimmy in other projects. Besides contributing bass over dubs and vocals, Chis excels at "baking", blowing things up and lighting stuff on fire.
After the cd was completed, the guys submitted the CD to WCCC in Hartford CT. DJ Mike Karolyi heard the first track and exclaimed "Ethr Rocks"!
Karolyi, contacted E-THR and ask to submit their CD to the management of Whitesnake. They were looking for an opening act for their show at the Webster Theatre in Hartford. E-THR had never rehearsed live but decided they really wanted to play out, they said OK.
As fate would have it, the band found out on a Monday that they would be the opening act that Friday, just four days away. A couple of plane flights later they met up in Hartford rehearsed that day and annihilated the crowd that night.
So far this has been a pretty wild ride for this group of friends, who are now a band. They are setting out soon for the mid-west and their next set of gigs. Stay tuned...
